About

Clem Leek is a British born musician and composer, hailing from Kent in the southeast of England. Throughout his young life Clem studied the performing arts, choosing to eventually study composition at post graduate level. For the last 10 years he has produced music professionally for general release, film, TV and is a seasoned performer.

Specialising in modern classical and ambient soundscaping, Clem takes inspiration from his surroundings and the experiences that have guided his life. ‘Holly Lane’ being his first full length release on Hibernate Recordings is one such example; drawing on the mysterious nature of the English countryside and coastlines.

Holly Lane was followed closely by ‘Lifenotes’ (2011, Drifting Falling) and ‘Rest’ (2013, Brian Records), both showcasing a more traditional side to Clem’s compositional style - lead by piano and guitar. These releases cemented Clem as a staple in the modern classical/experimental genre. Clem Now lives in Chicago, which has served as yet another source of inspiration.

After two further full length releases with Yen Recordings, a portfolio of diverse work and a myriad of collaborations, Clem continues to write and record his brand of very personalised music. Collaborations include work with the group ‘Black Elk’, providing the piano for the popular album ‘Sparks’, working alongside Ian Hawgood, Danny Norbury and Tim Martin. Commercial library work has him featured on the libraries of Universal and Sony ATV and his music has been used worldwide.
